Latte? Isn't that a drink, mum?

By April Oliver, we were pretty sure you were a boy, but we wanted to keep it a surprise for everyone else.

This meant we definitely needed a codename for you.

Yes, we'd been calling you 'bump' but it was a name we'd heard other people use We thought you deserved something a bit different.

The only other thing we knew about you, is that your skin colour was likely to be halfway between mum and dad's... a kind of 'coffee' colour.

And since mum's favourite coffee was Latte...

Dear Oliver,

Your mum and dad aren't very good at keeping a diary, but we want to keep a record of all the joy, fun and challenges you've brought into our lives.

So - we've made you a blog.

It's also a chance for your family (who live elsewhere) to see what you've been up to!

This is one of the first photos we have of you, O! You were only 12 weeks old at this time... and mum was just starting to have a bit of a 'bump' in her tummy.

And that's what we called you in December 2008 - 'bump'. We didn't know whether you'd be a boy or girl, and we thought 'bump' was cute. Hmm... 28 weeks till we meet you...
